Workcamp @ Tai O Community
Established in December 2012, Workcamp @ Tai O Community (大澳工作營) is the first local service learning trip coordinated by HKUST Connect. The workcamp aims to positively impact the remote Tai O community through providing various services which benefit the community, such as refurbishing stilt houses for elders, researching on local community needs and organizing activities for local people. Volunteers were also able to get a taste of the tranquil fishing village lifestyle by staying in traditional stilt houses during the camp.
The Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association Tai O Community Work Office, which provides a diverse set of community development services to Tai O residents under the Neighbourhood Level Community Development Project (NLCDP), partnered with HKUST Connect for this camp.
