Connect ACE is a development program that fosters peer-to-peer advocacy and community engagement. It brings together civic-minded students to address genuine community needs through people-oriented service initiatives.
Through participation, you will be able to:
Recognize community issues by identifying key social challenges in Hong Kong and understanding the mission of partnering NGOs
Design and deliver meaningful service projects that responsibly address community needs
Practice empathy and civic responsibility by showing compassion, cultivating awareness, and embodying social responsibility
Lead with purpose by mobilizing fellow HKUSTers to serve the community effectively
Collaborate and reflect for growth by strengthening teamwork, solving challenges, and transferring insights into future academic, professional, and personal endeavours
As an Ambassador, you will have the unique opportunity to team up with other participants to partner with a non-governmental organization (NGO) serving a cause you are passionate about, with project funding up to HK$5,000. You will collaborate directly with the NGO and mobilize your fellow schoolmates to contribute to the community. The program equips you with essential skills like activity design and facilitation.
Moreover, you will work closely with HKUST Connect to advocate for a service culture on campus. By joining Connect ACE, you will gain the platform and support to turn your ideas into tangible, meaningful contributions to the local community. Satisfactory completion of the program makes you eligible for the HKUST Connect Service Leaders Network and apply for the Social Good Leader Award.
