Connect Ambassador for Community Engagement (Connect ACE)
At first, I thought that good service meant putting on a well-planned event and giving the community what I thought they needed.
I now know that it means putting the needs of the community first, listening first, and coming with an open mind instead of thinking you're a hero.

I understood that leadership is not about being the loudest person in the room but about creating space for others to grow.
This realization reshaped my leadership style: I was no longer a commander, but a facilitator who builds trust and empowers others.

Addressing social inclusion requires a mutual understanding:
we should not only help ethnic minority (EM) children feel more connected to Hong Kong society and a sense of belonging, but also help the local community better understand and accept the EM population, respecting their culture in the process.

The ACE Program showed me how to empower others by embracing differences,
valuing diverse perspectives, and grounding my actions in community needs, I transformed from a hesitant volunteer into a purpose-driven changemaker. This has affirmed my commitment to a future where empathy and innovation converge to create equitable and inclusive communities.
