Awards for Social Good
The Awards recognize students who demonstrate a strong commitment to positive change. The tiered structure empowers you to contribute in ways aligned with your preparedness and impact goals. Whether you are a beginner or have a proven track record, this program supports and celebrates your efforts to uplift the community. Apply for the award tier that best fits your aspirations and let's collectively build a more just, equitable and sustainable future.
Eligibility: HKUST undergraduate students
The program counting period will start from 1 Sep to 15 April of the following year.
Application will open soon. Results will be announced by end of April and Awards will be presented at a ceremony on 8 May 2025. All awardees will receive a certificate and the corresponding financial award.
Awards & Requirements
Social Good Contributor
Receive up to HK$1,000 if you
- Participate in at least 8 events* organized by HKUST Connect
- Submit a reflection (optional advising session available)
Social Good Builder
Receive up to HK$3,000 if you
- Participate in at least 4 events* organized by HKUST Connect
- Satisfactory performance in one of the following development programs:
- Service Learning Trip
- Stitch Together
- HKUST Sail and Shine Program
- With recommendation by the program advisor of the development programs
Social Good Leader Award
Receive up to HK$10,000 if you
- Participate in at least 4 events* organized by HKUST Connect
- Satisfactory performance in one of the following programs:
- Connect Ambassador for Community Engagement
- Organizing committee of Connect Service Learning Trip
- Changemaker in Action: implement a student-initiated community project with a minimum of 20 staff-facilitated hours
- Submit a personal narrative to capture the experiences and learning, and the impact made
- With recommendation by the program advisor, based on demonstration of the capacity to enable team members to contribute to the common good
* HKUST Connect organized events include:
- community services
- experiences such as simulation, community tour, or adventure-based challenge, etc.
- workshops
- talks
