Bali Service Learning Trip
HKUST Connect collaborates with VIA to organize a service learning trip to Bali, supporting underprivileged students in rural Bali through the Suwandi Foundation and empowering individuals with physical disabilities at Cahaya Mutiara Ubud. During the trip, volunteers design and host interactive workshops and skill-building activities to inspire the children and youth and foster greater independence, collectively contributing to meaningful community growth.
Volunteer participants are able to:
- Understand the circumstances, challenges, and needs of rural children and individuals with physical disabilities through interactive workshops and direct service
- Foster youth development and empowerment by designing and leading various themed activities that encourage valuable skill-building and greater independence
- Accelerate personal growth and cross-cultural understanding through experiential reflection and service
- Share experiences during and after the service trip to spread a message of care and empathy within the HKUST community
