Student Groups
Description
HKUST is a "community within a community" that encourages its members to step out and reach out to the community at large. Apart from HKUST Connect, which is a university-wide initiative dedicated to community engagement, several student groups are also actively engaged in service work:
- University YMCA – HKUST, HKUSTSU (Uni-Y) is a student-centred committee that empowers university students, equips future leaders, enhances their global vision and perspective, and nurtures a willingness to serve through planning, organizing and implementing various programs and projects.
- Rotaract Club of HKUST aims to develop its members into global leaders, providing a platform for young people to discover and realize their potential so as to have a positive impact on society.
- AIESEC in HKUST aims to develop its members into global leaders, providing a platform for young people to discover and realize their potential so as to have a positive impact on society
- Student Social Service Society (SSSS) is a student organization that aims to serve the unfortunates of the society, arouse social consciousness within the university community, and promote the importance of social service.
- Golden Z, HKUSTSU is supported by Zonta Club of Hong Kong East. They aim at helping students to develop leadership skills, participate in service projects, and promote career exploration.
