Six HKUST students from the course HUMA 3630: Community and Cultural Identity planned and executed this service project for new immigrant and lower-income families in King Lam Estate. Its aim was to teach children aged 6 to 12 English based on different themes: Introducing Yourself, Hobbies, and Ordering Food. The students designed various activities and games to engage the children and motivate them to use English in daily conversations. Through the teaching process, our students were also able to explore the local multicultural community in Hong Kong and gained a deeper understanding of cultural diversity through social interaction.
