Initiated by a group of GNED 2710 students, the project "Capture. Appreciate" aimed to improve secondary school students' English communication proficiency and develop their appreciation for the world through interesting English sessions.

Secondary school students were divided into groups which consisted of one to two volunteers and four to five secondary school students. Different topics in each of the 4 sessions were presented to them: the local community around them, features around the globe, their memories, and celebrities. Some vocabulary on the topics and grammar rules were taught during the sessions. After some practice with the vocabulary and grammar rules, the HKUST volunteers conveyed that each topic could be appreciated differently.

The students enjoyed the sessions and learned some useful vocabulary and grammar rules.
