Storytelling @ Kiddy Heart Canteen

The "Storytelling @ Kiddy Heart Canteen" project was initiated by an organizing committee including HKUST students who joined Hong Kong & Macau Joint University Service Camp. Noticing the lack of learning opportunity among the underprivileged children and the importance of reading and story-telling to children's growth, the committee decided to organize a series of storytelling sessions together with post-reading activities for the children in Kiddy Heart Canteen, aiming to develop the interest and habit in reading among these children, as well as to provide a platform for parents to learn about the techniques of story-telling and reading resources available in the neighbourhood. HKUST volunteers were recruited to assist in both the reading and post-reading activities.
