Service Camp for Ethnic Minority Families
The Tuen Mun Service Camp was organized by the students from the Jiangxi Service Learning Trip, which was canceled due to the outbreak of Avian Influenza (H7N9) in Mainland China in April. Our students decided to serve the local community and together they planned a three-day service camp in which they organized different activities for South Asians and the other local families living at Tuen Mun.
During the three days, our students organized different mass games and activities for the children. The volunteers had a good time interacting with the energetic children during the mass games and while the children participated in the game booths the volunteers prepared.
Two cooking workshops were also held for South Asian and local families. The volunteers and families co-operated with each other, learned about each other’s cultures, and were happy to bring home their freshly baked cupcakes and delicious mango dumplings.
Student Sharing
