A team of Connect ACE collaborated with Po Leung Kuk Wan Lam May Yin Shirley Neighbourhood Elderly Centre to organize this 3-session service project with the aim of bringing warmth and care to the elderly in Hong Kong, as well as providing a platform for them to develop interests and knowledge on healthy living.

For the last session, the Elderly visited HKUST. Together with our volunteers, they took part in interactive games at a lecture theatre and enjoyed lunch at the school canteen. Through the different activities, the elderly singletons learned more about healthy living and the volunteers gained a better understanding of elderly singletons living in Hong Kong.

今次三次的service與別不同,可以3次活動見到同一班長者,比起一次性的service更有意義。當有長者認得自己的時候都會感到特別感動。另外,快樂其實好簡單。看到其他人快樂,自己也會不自覺地開心起來!

Through all 3 sessions of 'Happy Silver Ride', I've gained a deeper understanding of Singleton Elderly and their daily life and routines. I'm truly amazed at how enthusiastic, optimistic, and passionate they are towards life and their surroundings; and how grateful they are to continue to live such an impactful and meaningful life. Seeing their way of life gives me motivation and determination to lead a better life and I hope that positive energy may live on!
