Chinese in the Wonderland 中文「童」遊

There are now 450,000 ethnic minority residents in Hong Kong, accounting for 6.4% of Hong Kong's total population. Many of them face lots of challenges in their daily life due to cultural differences and language barriers which makes it difficult for them to integrate into the community.
To embrace social inclusion, Rotaract Club of HKUST partners with HOPE Centre to launch a service with ‘Culture of Chinese’ as the theme.
Volunteers will play games which are related to the Chinese Culture with the ethnic minority children in order to help familiarize them with Chinese in order to help the ethnic minorities to integrate into the community.

This is my second time joining the HKUST Connect volunteering. This volunteering is not the same as the previous one, as this volunteering requires us to look after the kids. They are very energetic and interesting. They all come from different backgrounds and countries. What I have learnt today is, be simple and you will be happy (like a kid!) :)

This is my first time joining the service learning day and I find it enjoying. I used to think dealing with children is annoying but after joining it, I find them actually very funny and interesting.
