There are about 260,000 ethnic minorities in Hong Kong (except domestic helpers) and the number has increased by 70% over the past 10 years. However, they may have difficulties adapting to the local community due to language barriers and cultural difference, which affect the development of ethnic minority children a lot.
In view of this, a team of Connect Ambassador for Community Engagement (Connect ACE) partnered with Hong Kong Family Welfare Society - ATAA Jockey Club Tseung Kwan O Youth Square to initiate a service project with an aim to motivate EM children to embrace the local Hong Kong culture through various activities. We are now recruiting volunteers to assist and facilitate ethnic minority children age 6-10 in the activities to discover the similarities among different cultures.
