Volunteer carefully cleaning the dog

This project, initiated by Connect ACE (Ambassador for Community Engagement), aimed to raise students' awareness about animal welfare issues in Hong Kong. Volunteers served at a pet sanctuary for abandoned animals and helped to promote pet adoption in the Sai Kung community during an “adoption day” organized by the NGO.

Today’s experience at Ping’s Pet Club was completely different from what I expected. As a regular volunteer at Dog Rescue, I realized that there are many smaller animal protection charities existing which are still developing and is of a smaller scale. It has made me realize that the owner whom decided to give up her house and time to all these dogs really is something. If more people or organizations are willing to help this charity, I believe that there will be higher chances for those dogs to find a home.
