HKUST volunteers joined Mr. Li Chung Hing to provide congee to the needy in the community. They had the opportunity to serve as well as to understand Mr. Li's philosophy on serving the needy.

大排檔每周為附近的老人們提供一次免費的粥，讓我體會到當地的居民在盡自己之所能幫助身邊那些需要幫助的人。雖然我的廣東話講的不是很好，只會講一些非常基本的日常用語，但是當地的老人們都十分善解人意，他們會很耐心地傾聽我說的話，這讓我十分感動，也讓我體會到，語言障礙並不是大的問題，只要你有一顆熾熱的心，並且真心去體會他們的需要，真誠地去幫助並關愛他們，他們都會體會到你的心情，並且還會感謝你的。我相信，通過我們的努力，世界一定會更加美好。
其實派粥看似是很簡單，就是朝早派幾個鐘粥給公公婆婆，多花一點錢。但其實背後的心意卻支持李先生一直無私奉獻。雖然他口裏說為自己開心，但試問香港有幾多人做這樣的「傻事」，我希望日後有機會能付出一點去溫暖別人的心，得到那份珍貴的快樂。
