Skills and Mindset for Impact
Driven by the belief that everyone possesses the potential to be a changemaker, HKUST Connect hosted an interactive workshop to equip students with the skills and initiative needed to drive social impact. The session focused on cultivating the proactive mindset required to turn everyday actions into meaningful community contributions.
During the workshop, the instructor guided students through the core qualities of effective leadership—emphasizing empathy, teamwork, a strong sense of purpose, and a growth mindset. The session kicked off with a dynamic group discussion on what drives positive change, followed by inspiring stories from young changemakers. To deepen self-awareness, the instructor also conducted a brief mindset screening, helping students identify their strengths and build their "changemaker muscles".
The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants. Empowered by their new skills and self-understanding, attendees left inspired to take concrete steps toward making a lasting, positive impact on the community.
