Summerbridge Hong Kong is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged secondary school students in Hong Kong through programs that strengthen English communication, academic, and life skills—helping to build confidence and interpersonal abilities. Summerbridge strives to bridge educational gaps caused by socioeconomic disparities and inspire young people to become future educators.

Be part of the Summerbridge Hong Kong 2026 Summer Program! HKUST students are invited to participate in the Program as student teachers to work with local secondary school students aged 13 to 15. If you are passionate about youth education and in developing transferable skills, join us in making a positive impact to the community!

What is it like to teach at Summerbridge?

  • Involved in the entire process of teaching: curriculum design, teaching, and assessment.
  • Engage students facing socioeconomic challenges in an English-immersion environment and give back to the community.
  • Develop leadership and project management skills through classroom teaching and collaboration with other student teachers in event planning.
  • High work ownership and autonomy as the majority of the Summer Program is planned, administered, and executed by student teachers.
  • Work with student teachers around the world and be ready to experience cross-cultural interactions and build new friendships!
