The talk featured Ms. Kung Tsz Shan Janet (龔子珊), the world’s sixth-ranked ice climber and an extraordinary athlete from Hong Kong. Janet shared her journey from growing up in a snowless city to discovering her passion for mountaineering during a Scout exchange in Canada. Despite facing limited resources and numerous challenges, she persevered with determination.

Janet recounted her bold decision in 2022 to leave her nursing career and pursue competitive ice climbing in Nepal, funding her own journey without institutional support. Her remarkable achievements, including her world ranking and victory at the 2024 Cheung Chau Bun Scrambling Contest, demonstrated her resilience and unwavering commitment to her dreams.
