HKUST Connect and the Shaw Auditorium Unit co-hosted a screening of The Way We Talk (《看我今天怎麼說》), a powerful film directed by Mr. Adam Wong Sau-ping (黃修平導演). The film delves into the complex lives and identities of three young deaf individuals as they navigate self-discovery and challenge societal norms.

The event attracted 100 HKUST students, offering them a unique opportunity to reflect on identity and celebrate diverse voices. Following the screening, Director Adam Wong engaged the audience in a post-screening sharing session, fostering meaningful discussions on embracing diversity.

Participants shared that the event deepened their respect, care, and understanding for the Deaf community and those with different life experiences. Many highlighted a greater awareness of the challenges faced by Deaf individuals. Attendees also expressed increased interest in sign language and recognized the importance of respecting individual choices within all communities.
