Aid to AIDS Preventive Education Project 愛滋教育活動

The Hong Kong AIDS Foundation was established in 1991 to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS in Hong Kong. It provides a range of services to care for and support people infected with or otherwise affected by HIV/AIDS, and takes the lead in educating the public and enhancing the awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Volunteers helped in the promotional campaign for the Foundation on campus, hosting booth games and distributing the tissue packages with condoms.

This service is a new challenge to me. Sex is always a sensitive topic in Hong Kong, also in HKUST. Many people are very shy when talking about safe sex. Yet it should be a must-know knowledge for everyone. I hope that more people can open up more and acknowledge its importance.

IPO, Year 1
It was a great feeling to help people remain safe from HIV/AIDS by informing them in a detailed manner and promoting safe sex. These issues are still considered as taboos in my country, so I feel good about the contribution I made. Love is diverse, and unlimited; but let's make it safe!
