Fourteen HKUST students explored the dynamic heart of Hong Kong at Chung King Mansions - a bustling hub of diverse commerce and compassionate community. They delved into the thriving commercial ecosystem that makes Chungking Mansions a magnet for global trade and entrepreneurship. More importantly, this experience allowed students to understand that the true depth of Chungking Mansions lies in its role as a compassionate refuge for the city's immigrant and asylum-seeking communities. They heard firsthand accounts of the challenges and triumphs faced by these resilient individuals and gained insights into the vital services provided - from legal aid and language classes to job training and community support - that help transform lives and empower new beginnings.
