Volunteers picking up trash on the beach.

The coastline of HKUST has always been a popular place for students' leisure activities, and it is also home to numerous marine and shore animals. However, the issue of garbage washing onto the beach areas is a concern.

In response to this, 22 volunteers worked together to clean up the beach. Volunteers were divided into teams and assigned different areas of the beach to pick up trash. Through this service, volunteers gained awareness of the irreversible consequences of marine pollution, and the importance of the general public to working hand in hand to protect our marine environment.
