The coastline of HKUST has become a perfect place for students' leisure activities. It is also habitats of numerous marine and shore animals. However, waves of garbage are washing onto HKUST beach areas frequently. This situation not only degrades the appearance and beauty of our campus and becomes a hygiene problem, but the plastic debris also seriously badly impact marine ecosystems. HKUST Connect is organizing a beach cleanup to prevent the debris being washed back into the sea. We are looking for volunteers to collect trash on the beach to restore the beautiful view.
科大宿舍與海岸僅有五分鐘的距離，成為不少同學休憩、放鬆心情和做運動的地方；對於海岸生物而言，更是其棲息地。然而，每天都有大量垃圾被沖至科大校園的沙灘及石灘上，破壞海岸生態及景觀。堆積的垃圾會滋生蚊蟲影響衛生，垃圾沖回海裏更嚴重危害海洋生態。科大侍學行現與招募義工協助收集沙灘上的垃圾，讓科大的海岸線回復原貌。

1. [HMAW1905] This is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 2.5 hours, you must attend the event in full and miss no more than 10 mins.
