Volunteering @Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve 服務在鳳園

The Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve was established by the local non-profit organization, The Environmental Association, to protect one of the premier locations in Southeast Asia for butterfly observation. In partnership with The Environmental Association, we organized a volunteering service project inviting all HKUST members — including students, staff and alumni — to dedicate efforts to maintaining the butterfly habitat,  which provides a sanctuary for over 200 butterfly species.

This program aimed to offer our community members an invaluable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the crucial conservation efforts undertaken by the Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve and the essential importance of preserving butterfly habitats in supporting the conservation of our shared ecosystems on a larger scale. The volunteers directly contributed to sustaining the natural environment and bolstered The Environmental Association's efforts to protect this unique ecosystem.
