Colours of Life Beyond Sight

HKUST Connect was thrilled to welcome Dr Rico Chan, founder and CEO of Beyond Vision International (BVI) and Mei Ling, a BVI Program Officer and a professional golfer, to share and inspire students and staff in late March.

Rico enthusiastically shared with us his passion for art and his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all. He also discussed the innovative methods developed by his team to enable the visually impaired to appreciate the intricate details of art pieces. Mei Ling, a visually impaired golfer, shared her journey of discovering the joy of golf and overcoming challenges in the sport. 

This event was a part of the Sense the Art, Fence the Passion program, organized in collaboration with BVI and Gay Games Hong Kong. As a part of the program, HKUSTers had the opportunity to experience firsthand Rico and his team's innovative tactile art exhibition held on campus.
