Make an impact through acts of kindness

Jeff Rotmeyer from ImpactHK, an organization providing support to the homeless community, shared their experience and inspired students to make an impact on society.

In the talk, Jeff introduced the situation of the homeless community in Hong Kong and talked about common misconceptions about this community. He concluded that what they really need is not just a place to live in but also love and friendship.

Jeff also explained their work of supporting this community and the core values of their work. What Jeff is doing is providing opportunities to this community and community education to the general public. Students were curious about what difficulties Jeff has faced when providing support, and they discussed the ways to reduce stigma towards this community. 

“Everything starts with care,” Jeff encouraged students to make their impact on society starting with care towards others.
