Student Civic Fellowship
The whole experience changed my presumption about people with disabilities.
Almost all of the artists I got in touch with are more independent than I thought. They are really friendly, optimistic and talkative. They don't always need extra help. Instead, treating them as ordinary people may be the best way to get along with them. That is also the kind of social inclusion they want to receive from the general public.

I have a completely different point of view towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) after one month at Foodlink.
CSR is usually interpreted as the contribution that business units make to improve total social well-being. However, the management of some of our corporate donors seem more concerned about the cost control of service provision rather than social well-being. While it is still crucial to send a message to corporations about the importance of CSR in developing a sustainable society, I have also learnt how CSR can be interpreted differently by different stakeholders, especially when their interests are at stake.

I have developed a sense of empathy throughout the whole fellowship.
In the future, being an effective leader will mean having a keen consideration of other people's feelings and emotions. Cooperation is always the key to success; we cannot survive without help from others. Instead of individualism, I value togetherness more. I will also put myself in others’ shoes to look at things from their perspectives. I believe that will help me make better judgments.

Through the fellowship, I feel clearer about my future career path.
In everyday work, I have to deal with a lot of data. Even though it is an enormous dataset with missing and inaccurate data, I am still able to organize it in a proper way, which makes me realize my strong analytical and organizing skills. Moreover, through the research work, I have discovered my interest in reverse engineering on eCommerce. Therefore, I plan to continue my studies in computer data analysis as I now know my strengths better.
