Changemaker 30

All currently HKUST students who have registered with HKUST Connect are welcome to join the campaign. Sign up here if you are not yet a HKUST Connect registrant.

Join the campaign here and pledge to be a changemaker. For Community GO participants, you will be enrolled to the campaign automatically and given the Points for making the pledge to be a changemaker.

You will receive a confirmation email after making your pledge. For Community GO registrants, you will receive an email about your automatic enrolment to Changemaker 30.

You will receive an email each month, stating the Points that you have collected. Please be noted that your Points from participating in any services/events via HKUST Connect within 1 September 2021 to 31 December 2022, will be added to your record automatically.

For services provided to external organizations or donation made, Points will be given upon verification of endorsed service records or donation receipts provided by respective organizations.

Please include your Instagram username in the pledge if you are a follower of HKUST Connect. For Community GO registrants, please send us your Instagram username for verification through the link included in your enrolment confirmation email.

You should send us the local community service record with an endorsement from each of the charitable organizations you have served. These services must be completed within the period of 1 September 2021 to 31 December 2022 in order to be counted towards this campaign. Please be reminded that Points will be awarded on a program-by-program basis. If there are multiple direct service sessions within one program, the Points will only be awarded once.

As we encourage students to step into the community and understand more about Hong Kong society, only direct service programs will be counted. Some examples are, teaching ethnic minorities youth Chinese, providing logistic support to community events, serving food to homeless people and visiting elderly centers. Direct service programs do NOT include promoting service projects on campus, fund-raising, and researching, etc.

If you only participate in preparation for service programs, such as liaison work, briefing, training, preparation and meetings, debriefing and evaluation sessions, etc., Points will not be awarded. You are always welcome to check with us in advance if you are not sure whether the service can be counted.

You should present/send us the tax deductible donation receipts. Only "approved charitable donation" will be endorsed in this campaign. "Approved charitable donation" refers to a donation of money to any charitable institution or trust of a public character, which is exempt from tax under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, or to the Government, for charitable purposes. Congratulations! You have fulfilled the campaign requirement of collecting 30 Points by your Changemaker actions!

At the end of the campaign, you will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and three HK$10 McDonald's Gift Certificates. At the same time, you will be enrolled to the lucky draw automatically, one lucky draw chance will be given for every 30 Points collected.

You will earn a chance to win among the following prizes upon your completion of Changemaker 30:  an Apple iPad Air (64GB), an Apple HomePod Mini / Sony XB23 EXTRA BASS or HK$300 gift vouchers to be chosen from Apple, DON DON DONKI, ParknShop or Decathlon. The lucky draw results will be announced in January 2023. Please check the Terms and Conditions for further information.

You will receive a Certificate of Participation even if you cannot collect 30 Points during the period. However, you will lose the chance to participate in the lucky draw. You are encouraged to stay tuned to our monthly newsletter for latest service opportunities and to fulfil the challenge within the period.

Your actions taken on or before 31 August 2022 will be counted. If you have successfully collected 30 Points by then, you will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and three HK$10 McDonald's Gift Certificates in September 2022.

At the same time, you will be eligible to participate in the lucky draw in January 2023.
