Mapathon @HKUST 科大地圖松 2020-21

Most of the developing world's population is not on any map and the data on the digital maps we usually used are not freely accessed and utilized. This delays the responses to reach people suffering from natural disasters, disease outbreaks, epidemic, conflicts, etc. In response to natural disasters in developing countries, volunteers supported Missing Maps to map Colombia, Rizal, and Uzbekistan in the 5 sessions. After learning some simple mapping skills, volunteers worked on the maps and over 13,000 buildings were traced and mapped.
