Ethnic minorities in Hong Kong may have difficulties in learning in the local school due to language barriers and lack of financial support, which affect the development of ethnic minority children a lot. In view of this, a group of students worked with Jordan Family Support and Service Centre to carry out online tutorial classes for teaching ethnic minority kids Chinese, English and Mathematics.
After the service, volunteers know more about the challenges faced by ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. Also, children have more support on their homework via the online classes during the pandemic.
