HKUST Global Days of Changemaking 2020

Sub-heading

Changemaking Challenge

Changemaking is more important during a pandemic crisis than ever. Physical distancing does not mean social isolation. We're all in this together, so let’s all do our part to contribute to the common good. As an HKUST Changemaker, your social media posts can help tackle climate change and improve the lives of local farmers. Let’s be the change we want to see!

I am an HKUST Changemaker

Why join the Changemaking Challenge?

The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a blueprint for achieving a happier and healthier world by 2030. Even an average person can make an impact as every of our little step helps too. The Changemaking Challenge encourages you to take changemaking actions responding to SDG 1 to 5 & 10 to 15 and share on Facebook/Instagram tagging your friends to make a bigger impact. This will lead us to plant a tree for you in Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, which will help protect the habitats, fight global warming, and at the same time, support smallholder farmers in Peru. You will also have the chances to get fabulous prize!

The more HKUSTers take on the Changemaker Challenge, the more trees we will plant in Peru. With each global effort we make, the trees will eventually grow into a forest, named after our community called HKUST. You may join the Changemaking Challenge between 3 April – 15 May as individual or in team following the steps below:

Individual Challenge

  1. Follow our IG (@hkustconnect) / Like our FB page (HKUST Connect)
  2. Post a changemaking action, and hashtag #hkustconnect AND #hkustchangemaker
  3. Tag at least 3 friends (preferably HKUST members) in your post/story to challenge them to join you
  4. Screencap your post/story and direct message HKUST Connect (or email changemaking@ust.hk) with your full name, ITSC username and contact phone number

Team Challenge (3 - 5 HKUST members to form a diverse team)

  1. Follow our IG (@hkustconnect) / Like our FB page (HKUST Connect) by all members
  2. Post a collage showing all team members doing the same changemaking action, and hashtag #hkustconnect AND #hkustchangemaker
  3. Tag at least the same number of friends as your team in your post/story to challenge them to join you (e.g. a 4-person team should tag at least 4 HKUST members)
  4. Screencap your post/story and direct message HKUST Connect (or email to changemaking@ust.hk) with the full name, ITSC username and contact phone number of everyone in your team by one representative

*We will be sharing your posts/stories on our IG/FB. Get in touch with us if you have any concerns.
