Recognizing the uncertainty Secondary 3 students often face when selecting their elective subjects, a group of HKUST volunteers hosted the "Elective Navigator" service. Facilitated by university students who once navigated the exact same academic crossroads, the program provided relatable, student-led guidance to help younger peers make informed choices about their futures.

During the two sessions, our volunteers delivered a comprehensive orientation talk followed by engaging sharing sessions for 81 Form 3 students. By introducing various elective subjects and showing how they connect to university majors, the volunteers provided invaluable peer-to-peer mentorship. The secondary students gained much-needed clarity on their academic options, leaving the program more prepared to plan their future career paths. At the same time, the experience empowered our volunteers to step into leadership roles and help the next generation unlock their potential.
