rock cleaning
Hands‑on conservation at Amah Rock

Thirteen students participated in a rock cleaning activity at Amah Rock, co‑organized by HKUST Connect and the Association for Geoconservation, Hong Kong. While hiking up the trail, the guide introduced the area’s geomorphology and local plants. At the site, our students removed graffiti from the stones — taking practical steps to protect the environment while appreciating Hong Kong’s natural and cultural heritage.

The experience offered students valuable insights into the city’s biodiversity and landscapes, making them more aware of how human actions affect nature and how small efforts can contribute to its protection. The activity also encouraged them to reflect on the importance of caring for Hong Kong’s natural resources.
