Service Experience Exchange: HKUST x ASRJC
HKUST Connect recently hosted a dynamic cross-cultural service learning exchange, bringing together student leaders from Anderson Serangoon Junior College (ASRJC) in Singapore and HKUST student volunteers for an afternoon of collaborative insights and community-focused dialogue. The initiative served as a valuable platform for student leaders from both regions to exchange perspectives on community engagement, share impactful service stories, and learn from distinct regional experiences.
During the interactive dialogue, student leaders from both institutions actively presented their respective community projects. They openly discussed unique challenges faced in their home regions, celebrated their triumphs, and brainstormed new, innovative directions for the future of student-led service.
Following the formal discussion, the exchange transitioned into an immersive campus tour. HKUST volunteers stepped into the role of campus ambassadors, guiding their Singaporean peers across the campus. This not only allowed them to showcase the vibrant daily life at HKUST, but it also provided a natural setting for the students to continue their fruitful conversations and build lasting cross-cultural connections.
