Students learning basic Hong Kong Sign Language from a deaf instructor

The workshop was facilitated by an instructor from SLCO Community Resources Limited, a Hong Kong-based charitable organisation that champions sign bilingualism across communication, education, and social inclusion. The institution is committed to building a more inclusive society where communication barriers are actively broken down.

During the session, participants were introduced to practical vocabulary in Hong Kong Sign Language (HKSL), offering them a window into the deaf community and its rich cultural heritage. By the end of the workshop, attendees had acquired new communication skills, gained meaningful insights into the experiences of deaf individuals, and developed a heightened awareness of the importance of inclusion in everyday life.
