Volunteers showing delights of packing 1979 lunchboxes for those in need

Seventeen HKUST students volunteered at the Sham Shui Po central kitchen operated by Food Angel, a local NGO dedicated to reducing food waste and alleviating hunger.

Our volunteers worked together to prepare meal boxes using donated surplus food. These meal boxes were then distributed to those in need across Hong Kong. Impressively, a total of 1,979 meal boxes were packed in just two hours!

This meaningful event not only provided essential support to vulnerable groups, but also raised awareness about food waste in Hong Kong. Volunteers were inspired to make more sustainable choices in their daily lives.
