Joining Dog Walkers 與毛孩漫步 (Mar 2025)

A group of HKUST students visited Sai Kung Stray Friends, a local dog shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned dogs, to learn about its mission and the challenges faced by animal welfare organizations in Hong Kong.
During their time at the shelter, the students toured the kennels and heard the stories of the different rescued dogs. To support the shelter’s daily operations, the volunteers assisted with essential tasks, including cleaning kennels, preparing food, and testing the new data entry system for the shelter. One of the most meaningful parts of the visit was when the students took the dogs out for a walk, giving them much-needed exercise, socialization and affection. The students left with a deeper appreciation for the dedication required to run a shelter, inspiring them to promote adoption awareness and the power of community-driven care.
