memory book making

In today's bustling city, many elderly individuals live alone, facing loneliness and a lack of care. Each elder has a unique story that deserves our attentive listening. A group of four students under HKUST Connect ACE initiated the memory books project, collaborating with the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service Community Health Development Centre and recruiting six dedicated volunteers. Together, we visited the center three times, engaging in heartfelt conversations to capture their remarkable life moments, wisdom, and contributions to society. In total, we created seven memory books. This initiative was not just a record; it was a genuine act of care that allowed seniors to feel heard and valued, helping them rediscover their sense of self-worth.
