In the last Spring Term, a group of 17 students successfully completed the HKUST Kayak and Spark Program.

This unique experience ignited their passion for kayaking and marine life through a series of training sessions and workshops, allowing them to create their kayak-based service projects for local communities.

Throughout the Kayaking Trainings, participants gained proficiency in paddling and handling kayaks at sea while contributing to the preservation of our natural environment and deepening their understanding of marine ecosystems.

To further enhance their capabilities, participants also attended workshops on design thinking, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the needs and aspirations of their target service users, enabling them to deliver services with greater impact.

In April, participants launched their service projects for students from two secondary schools by transforming their ideas into activities. They are making a difference through the Kayak & Spark program!
