The Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve, established by The Environmental Association, is a premier site for butterfly observation in Hong Kong. This initiative offers HKUST volunteers a valuable opportunity to learn about essential conservation efforts at the reserve and the importance of preserving butterfly habitats for the broader ecosystem.

In collaboration with The Environmental Association, a group of seven HKUST volunteers helps maintain the reserve, which is home to over 200 butterfly species. Their efforts directly support the preservation of this unique habitat and enhance the mission of The Environmental Association to protect this vital ecosystem. Through their involvement, the volunteers contribute to sustaining the natural environment and raising awareness of conservation challenges.
