HKUST Bread Run 惜食 • 麵包收集活動 (Nov 2024)

HKUST volunteers partnered with Feeding Hong Kong for the Bread Run initiative, helping to reduce food waste while directly impacting hunger relief in the city.

Eleven HKUST volunteers collected surplus bread from various bakeries across Hong Kong and delivered it to the food bank. The rescued bread was then distributed the following morning to Feeding Hong Kong's extensive charity network.

These donations reached a diverse range of organizations, including shelters for the homeless, centers for migrant workers, women's refuge centers, children's homes, and other nonprofit programs aimed at providing food to individuals in need.
