Do animals have rights?

The talk featured Mr. Mark Mak, Founder and Executive Chairman of Non-Profit Veterinary, who shared his insights on the growing pet industry and the multifaceted roles animals play in society, from companionship to food production and trade.

The talk highlighted the importance of balancing economic development with animal welfare and fostering a harmonious coexistence between humans and animals. Participants also had the chance to meet two special guests, Ario and Cobbie, abandoned cats from "Animal Teacher." Through their stories, Mr. Mak shed light on the challenges faced by economically disadvantaged animals in Hong Kong and emphasized the need for compassion and advocacy for animal rights.

The thought-provoking event not only deepened participants' understanding of animal welfare and rights but also inspired them to reflect on their responsibilities toward animals in all areas of life.
