Cat Shelter "Purr-fecting" Action 貓舍清潔大行動 (2024)

A group of fourteen volunteers from HKUST visited the cat shelter operated by the Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association (HKSCDA) to provide care and attention to rescued animals. During their time at the shelter, the volunteers engaged in various activities to maintain a clean and safe environment for the cats. Their tasks included cleaning cages, providing fresh water, and playing with the cats to ensure they received much-needed social interaction.
This volunteer experience offered HKUST participants valuable insight into the essential work of the HKSCDA in rescuing and caring for abandoned and stray cats. By actively participating in the shelter's operations, the volunteers not only contributed to the well-being of the animals but also deepened their understanding of animal welfare issues in the community. Their engagement highlighted the importance of compassion and support for rescued animals, showcasing the positive impact of volunteerism in fostering a caring society.
