“Step Up” Your Love @Shamshuipo 傳「深」傳愛上樓探訪服務
Collaborating with the NGO, Salvation Army Shamshuipo Family Support Networking Team, HKUST students reached out to vulnerable groups in Sham Shui Po, including socially withdrawn individuals and elderly residents living alone. Through door-to-door visits, the volunteers introduced community and support services available to the less privileged, while showing genuine care and support for those in need.
By offering a compassionate ear and a helping hand, the volunteers provided a sense of community and connection for those who may otherwise feel isolated and forgotten. The partnership with the Salvation Army's local support network enabled the HKUST students to effectively identify and assist the most vulnerable members of the Sham Shui Po community.
This collaborative outreach initiative not only positively impacted the lives of the recipients, but also cultivated empathy and social awareness among the student volunteers. The experience allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized groups and inspired them to continue making a difference in their community.
The strong partnership between HKUST and the Salvation Army's Shamshuipo Family Support Networking Team demonstrated the power of cross-sector collaboration in uplifting underprivileged communities and fostering a more inclusive society.
