Ms. Rebecca Ngan, founder of the Mongrel Club and former PR and Communications Manager of SPCA, spoke at a heartening talk that centered around the story of Taxi Wong, a three-legged therapy dog who overcame adversity and touched the lives of many.

Rebecca discussed the challenges that disabled animals face in Hong Kong, including the lack of resources to support animal welfare, such as dog parks. She also highlighted the issue of veterinarians in Hong Kong not always prioritizing animal welfare, and the importance of treating animals with respect and care. Despite these challenges, Taxi Wong was able to serve humans and inspire others.

Through his story, Rebecca hoped to inspire a more compassionate and empathetic community that values the contributions of animals, and advocates for better animal welfare policies and resources in Hong Kong. Students gained valuable insights into the challenges that disabled animals face and the importance of treating animals with respect and care, understanding the role of a therapy dog and the role of animals in our communities.
