Volunteers hiking along the Lung Ha Wan Country Trail

Since the pandemic, hiking has gained immense popularity as an outdoor activity. However, an alarming amount of litter is being left behind on hiking trails and in country park areas, causing harm to wildlife and diminishing our enjoyment of the natural world. To address this issue, volunteers participated in a 3.5-hour hike along the Lung Ha Wan Country Trail, where they were educated on responsible nature stewardship and environmental protection. They actively collected bags of litter, including items such as food waste, cans, tissues, cigarette butts, plastic bottles, and food packages, to restore the pristine beauty of the area.
