According to research, students from low-income families often start schools already behind their peers from affluent families. Online learning further widens the gaps between them during the pandemic. In order to provide equal learning opportunities for students from low-income families, HKUST Connect collaborated with Choi Hung Estate Catholic Secondary School to offer free online tutoring to senior secondary students with financial needs. Volunteers were recruited to provide tutoring in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Volunteers were impressed by the students' eager learning attitude and learned facilitation skills in this service.
