Struggle for Survival Poverty Simulation & Service「『窮』途末路」貧民體驗活動及服務

Billions of people around the world live in extreme poverty. Nearly 10% of the world's population are living below the World Bank poverty line of US$1.90 per day. This poverty simulation designed by Crossroads Foundation lets students experience the hopelessness and intricacy of the web of poverty. By taking a few steps in the shoes of people in need, they experienced simulated manual labor and corrupt market practice together with the battle for shelter, food, education, and medical care. It gave the students a deep reflection on the poverty situation in the world and what they can do to make changes to it.
Afterward, students provided volunteering services including logistical support and sorting of different donation materials. A debriefing was given to students at the end and they were satisfied with the activity.
