Dr. Rizwan Ullah, the vice-principal of Law Ting Pong Secondary School, was invited to share his views on the current challenges faced by ethnic minorities. Growing up as part of the ethnic minority in Hong Kong, he summarized that insufficient education, low occupational mobility, and misunderstanding from local people are the three major difficulties confronted by ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.

Students were motivated to become a changemaker, promote empathy and respect, and embrace diversity in society. Dr. Ullah believed that education could trigger changes in people’s mindsets, facilitating the integration of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.

Dr. Ullah also concluded that ethnic minority students are facing educational inequality at school, teacher, and parent levels. Different solutions were suggested to alleviate the problems. At the school level, he suggested that the Education Bureau should increase school inspections of non-Chinese speaking students. Schools should regularly review their resource allocation for ethnic minority students. For the teacher level, teachers were suggested to attend NCSS colleges to receive training before teaching ethnic minority students, to ensure better teaching quality. Concerning the parent level, parents should be encouraged to involve more to keep track of students' education.
