How to win a competition for social good?

This talk aimed to help students to develop ideas that match social needs and influence people to take action for social good. The speaker, Eunice Wong, is a C-level Chartered Marketer and an awardee of Woman of the Year (Advertising Marketing & PR) from the Global Stevie Awards. As an experienced judge of various international awards, Eunice shared with students how to develop competitive project ideas to win a competition for social good.
Eunice reminded students that they should carry out thorough research on service recipients before planning anything. She guided students to develop their ideas by introducing ways to get insight and inspiration. On top of that, she also suggested guidelines on how to do strategic planning, creative solutions, and effective presentation. Presentation templates and useful tips were provided to facilitate students’ project-building process.
To wrap up, Eunice stated the key to winning a social innovation competition is to always be clear about the objectives and the problems that the project is tackling. Considering the current situation that meetings are often held on a virtual platform, she also suggested that students should keep their content short and focus on the target group to grasp the audience's attention.
